SERVING COMMUNITIES, RESTORING SIGHT, INSPIRING HOPE!!!

There is no greater feeling than restoring hope and bringing joy to people who once believed help would never come.

From 10th to 18th August 2026, Good Vision Malawi, through its dedicated Southern Team, successfully conducted a Roadshow Outreach Program across Chikwawa and Msanje districts, bringing essential eye care services closer to underserved communities.

Over the nine-day outreach, our team worked tirelessly to screen individuals for vision-related challenges, provide eye health awareness, and distributed vision glasses to those struggling with impaired vision. The impact of this initiative was remarkable:

-1320 people screened
-697 vision glasses distributed

Good Vision Malawi, in collaboration with the Mzimba South District Hospital Eye Team, supported children requiring specialized pediatric cataract surgery at Nkhoma Mission Hospital from 30 June to 3 July 2026.

Through coordinated referrals and logistical support for children and their guardians, five children successfully received life-changing cataract surgery, improving their vision and creating better opportunities for learning, development, and a brighter future.

We remain committed to ensuring that preventable and treatable eye conditions do not stand in the way of a child's potential.

Good Vision Malawi is proud to celebrate the success of our recent eye care outreach on Likoma and Chizumulu Island, held in March 2026, a milestone made possible through the valued support of Postcode Lottery Group.

Reaching remote communities requires more than commitment. It requires strong partnerships, dedicated teams, and communities willing to work together toward a common goal.

Likoma Island is home to approximately 15,000 people and is served by only one permanent optical professional. This makes access to essential eye care services a significant challenge for many residents and highlights the importance of bringing eye care services closer to the communities that need them most.

Through this outreach, we screened 1,250 people, distributed 1,108 pairs of eyeglasses, referred 213 patients for specialized treatment and Identified 28 patients requiring cataract surgery
These achievements reflect our shared commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to accessing quality eye care.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Postcode Lottery Group for investing in healthier communities and brighter futures. Your support made it possible to bring essential eye care services to Likoma Island, we also thank district health teams, community leaders, the people of Likoma Island, our dedicated Good Vision Malawi Northern team, and all our partners for their trust, collaboration, and commitment.

Making a Difference, One Vision at a Time!!!

Our Good Vision Malawi Northern Team was on the ground at the Umthetho Cultural Festival, held from 5th–8th August 2026 at the base of Hora Mountain in Mzimba District.

In partnership with the Mzimba District Health Office, the team brought eye care services closer to the community and made a meaningful impact.

313 patients were screened
283 vision glasses were distributed,
258 were donated
304 medications were distributed and
22 patients were referred for further specialized care

This is more than just numbers, it is about helping communities access the eye care they need and giving more people the opportunity to see clearly.

A big thank you to our Good Vision Malawi Northern Team for the great work and dedication, and to the Mzimba District Health Office (DHO) for the support and partnership. We truly appreciate everyone who helped make this outreach a success.

Meet our Good Vision Malawi Southern Region team!!!

This vibrant team started their eye care outreaches yesterday and will continue through 13 August 2026, as follows:

-10-11 August 2026 - Mitole Primary School and St. Matthew’s Primary School
-12-13 August 2026 - Ngabu Health Centre

We are offering free eye screening to help people understand the condition of their eyes and identify possible vision problems.

Vision glasses are also be available at affordable prices for those who need them.

We look forward to meeting you and helping more people enjoy clearer and better vision.

Good Vision Malawi successfully conducted a community eye outreach at Innocent Souls Pvt Clinic, Chimwaza Trading Centre, Dowa, reaching people of all ages with essential eye care services.

During the outreach: 61 people were screened, including men, women, children, and the old. 23 pairs of vision glasses were provided to improve sight and enhance daily living.

Every screening represents an opportunity to detect vision problems early, restore independence, and improve quality of life. We remain committed to ensuring that quality eye care is accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live.

We sincerely thank the community of Chimwaza and Innocent Souls Pvt Clinic for their warm welcome and support in making this outreach a success.
