Since its establishment, AICC has among others engaged in capacity building, research and facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes that bring together businesses, government and the civil society for collective actions to address sustainability challenges. Through such platforms, AICC and other stakeholders highlight the risks and opportunities for business in relation to creating value to all stakeholders.

Still catching up on what you missed at the Cotton Farmer Connect Field Day?

Here’s another important learning highlight:

Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Farmers shared how intercropping cotton with cowpeas can be an effective and sustainable way to manage pests in cotton fields.

How does it work?
Cowpeas help draw destructive pests away from cotton while also attracting beneficial insects that naturally control pest populations. This approach helps farmers reduce overreliance on chemical pesticides, lower production costs, support healthier crop growth and enable farmers to harvest two crops from the same piece of land, helping diversify production and increase income opportunities.
