Taking the Gospel to Every Child đź“–đź’›

At Chikudzulire Primary School, Somebody Cares Ministries gathered children from Standard 1 and 2 for a joyful time of sharing the Gospel through songs, participation, and teaching.
Centered on Mark 10:14 — “Let the little children come to me…” — the session created a space where children could connect with the message in a way they understood best: through joy, music, and interaction.

The classrooms quickly filled with excitement, laughter, and eager voices as children sang along and engaged with the lesson.
Moments like these remind us that sharing the Gospel with children is not only about teaching — it is about planting hope, shaping hearts, and helping young learners know they are loved and valued by God. 🎶

For 20 years, Bikiel Kayera (48) has faithfully served as a pastor in Namwiri Village, Dowa District.

He preached.
He led.
He encouraged others in faith.

But quietly, he carried a burden of his own.

Despite years in ministry, Bikiel often felt his understanding of Scripture was not deep enough to guide others with the confidence he desired. Still, he continued serving with what he had.

In 2026, that desire for growth led him to join Grace Community Bible Training Centre (GCBTC / Berean), part of the ministry work of Somebody Cares Ministries.

Here, he is discovering a deeper way of studying and understanding the Bible — book by book, verse by verse — while also growing personally and spiritually.

For Bikiel, this journey is more than education.

It is restoration.
It is confidence being rebuilt.
It is a pastor who never stopped serving, finally being equipped in the way he always longed for.

And after 20 years of pouring into others, he is now being poured into too.

At Grace Community Bible Training Centre, supported by Somebody Cares Ministries, Ester Neleson (43) sat through a lesson on trusting God — and it felt like every word was meant for her.

A mother of four and the first wife in a polygamous marriage, Ester has carried years of quiet pain. She remembered when life was simple — when they had little, but walked together in love and faith.

But as life changed, so did her marriage.

Her husband drifted away, took on other wives, and the life she once knew began to fall apart. The rejection, the hurt, and the words of others pushed her into desperation — searching for ways to win back what she had lost.

But nothing worked.

Instead, it only left her more broken.

Then came the moment that changed everything.

Sitting in that lesson, Ester realized she could not force things to return to how they were — but she could choose a different way forward.

With quiet strength, she made a decision: to let go of control, and to begin trusting God with what she cannot change.

She now plans to start fasting and praying — not out of desperation, but out of faith.

And in that decision, something new has begun.

There is a quiet but powerful shift happening at Kapunula Centre—children are finding their voice. 🤍

At just 4 years old, Jozeti stood in front of her classmates, smiling with confidence as she recited the calendar. What may seem like a simple moment carries deep meaning. In a space that was once filled with shyness, courage is beginning to grow.

In that moment, it wasn’t just about getting the words right—it was about standing up, speaking out, and being heard.

This is the work of Somebody Cares Ministries—creating safe spaces where children grow in confidence, express themselves, and step boldly into learning.

Children like Jozeti are becoming more engaged, more confident, and more ready for what comes next.

This is impact.
This is growth.
This is care in action.

She’s only 3… but this cup means everything.

Promise Banda holds it tight, not letting go — smiling with every sip of fortified porridge.

It looks simple.
But it’s strength.
It’s protection.
It’s one less sick day.
One more chance to grow, play, and just be a child.

For many families, nutrition is a daily struggle.
But through the work of Somebody Cares Ministries, moments like this are becoming more possible.
And sometimes… it starts with a cup. 💛

A 63-year-old man. Weak, seriously ill, and living with HIV — with little to no support around him.

Yamikani Zapita is battling severe opportunistic infections. His body is swollen, his strength fading. Since losing his wife three years ago, his daughter has carried the full burden of caring for him — physically and emotionally — often struggling to manage even the most basic daily care.

Then Somebody Cares Ministries stepped in.

Through the Home-Based Care program, volunteers visited the home, offering encouragement, practical support, and prayer. Transport assistance was provided to help him reach the hospital for further care.

In a moment of exhaustion and uncertainty, the family was reminded that they are not alone — that even when strength runs low, compassion can still find its way to the doorstep.

Because the truth is, Yamikani is not the only one.
There are many others quietly fighting illness behind closed doors — with little support, limited resources, and no clear way to ask for help. Many are unseen. Many are unheard. Many are simply waiting for someone to care.

Join us in reaching more lives like Yamikani’s — through partnering, volunteering, sharing, or supporting the work that brings care to those in need.

Tanaziyo Kang’ombe (48), living with HIV, heart complications, and Kaposi’s sarcoma, is being supported through the Home-Based Care program under Somebody Cares Ministries.

He recently received a home visit in Gungulu Village, where he was offered encouragement, care, and support — including assistance with transport to access further medical treatment.

Once working in Mzuzu, his health challenges led to job loss, financial hardship, and eventually dependence on his elderly mother for daily survival.

His story reflects a wider reality faced by many individuals who experience illness alongside isolation and economic struggle.

Through consistent home-based care, the ministry continues to bring dignity, compassion, and hope to those in need.

Join us through partnering, volunteering, or giving support to help reach more lives.

Encouraging children through song 🎶

Teachers and caregivers used a simple song — “One two for you, one two me, one two for Jesus” — to celebrate children’s effort and participation during learning.

Every time a child tried, answered, or performed well, the song was sung to encourage them.

It created a joyful classroom atmosphere where children felt seen, valued, and motivated to keep learning with confidence and happiness.

Clean water brings joy and health to children at Dzoole ECD Centre. đź’§

Access to clean and safe water has created a healthier and happier learning environment, as children now have a reliable water source within their centre through a borehole drilled in partnership with Malawi H2O.

The impact is clear — children are excited, hygiene practices like handwashing are now easier, and the risk of waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera is greatly reduced.

Beyond health, this simple access to water is supporting better learning conditions, giving teachers and caregivers a safer space to focus on early childhood development.

Clean water is not just a resource — it is protection, dignity, and a better start in life. 💙

Follow, partner, or volunteer with us in bringing lasting change to communities.

Educators at Dzoole turned learning into song and play.

Through a fun activity on zowuluka ndi zosauluka (animals that fly and those that do not), teachers practiced singing animal names and classifying them — a simple game they can now use to make lessons more exciting and engaging for young learners.

This is what Somebody Cares Ministries is about — equipping educators with simple, creative tools that make learning joyful and meaningful for children.

Because when learning feels like play, children learn with joy.
