We are a community supported Organization that serves orphaned children, people living with HIV/AIDS, and chronically ill patient.

THE HISTORY OF CHILUNGAMO
ORPHAN CENTRE

Wellington Msonda, the Centre’s Founder and now Coordinator, is a former socio worker retired from the Government of Malawi. He was inspired to do something positive to make a difference after he lost his daughter to AIDS. Seeing the number of orphans in his village and the strain that was placing on families in so many different ways, he founded Chilungam

o in 2002 in his daughter’s honor and hasn't looked back since. He serves as a grandfather figure to the children, all of whom love him and appreciate his support more than he will ever know. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Chilungamo Orphan Care has management committee of 10 members, six women and four men and work closely with traditional leaders, community care givers, counselors, home based care volunteers and other stake holders to ensure that all activities are run with integrity and efficiency. The coordinator oversees the entire Centre.
