Centre for Human Needs (CHN) hosted Elderly Christmas Lunch on 26 December 2025 at Green Malata Hall, Bangwe, under the theme “Sharing Love, Spreading Joy, and Caring for Our Elders.”

The event brought together seniors from Butawo, Mbalame, and Naluso villages in Traditional Authority Machinjiri, Blantyre, for a joyful celebration.

We were honoured to be joined by Assistant Superintendent Gerald Kandaya, Community Policing Coordinator, Sub-Inspector Tambirai Mungayele, Child Protection Officer from Bangwe Police Station; and Mr. Kelvin Phiri, Area Development Committee (ADC) Chair, representing the Blantyre City Mayor.

Today, September 14, 2025, Centre for Human Needs (CHN) visited Gogo Mary Matandika, one of the organization’s beneficiaries, at her home in Naluso Village, T/A Machinjiri, Blantyre.

The visit was filled with warmth and laughter as the CHN team enjoyed Gogo Matandika’s humorous stories. Together with her relatives, we shared a meal and presented her with basic necessities to support her well-being.

The visit reflects CHN commitment to honoring elders by creating spaces where they can share their life experiences and wisdom, offering guidance and mentorship.

On December 26, 2024, the Centre for Human Needs (CHN) organization hosted an Elderly Christmas Lunch at Chawe Primary School. The event brought together over fifty seniors from Butawo, Mbalame, and Naluso villages in Traditional Authority Machinjiri, Blantyre.

The Elderly Christmas Lunch was conducted with the objective of celebrating the festive season and honoring our cherished seniors in our communities.

During the event, we were honored to be accompanied by a well-known businessman from Bangwe, Mr. Chinyanje, who generously provided financial support to each participant.

Initially, the event was planned to take place at the Mibawa Multipurpose Hall in Limbe, where a number of activities were scheduled to be performed. However, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the venue was changed, and the event proceeded at the organization's field location in Blantyre.
