Change Makers Organization had a fruitful meeting with the Mayor of Lilongwe city Council to strengthen our partnership in empowering young people in the city. We had an impactful discussion on how to jointly design programs that tackle unemployment, gender-based violence, health services and other challenges affecting youth across our communities.

At CMAO we believe in empowering community platforms to roll out youth-led initiatives that create real opportunity. When government and civil society unite young people thrive.
A better Lilongwe for youth means a better Malawi for all.

inside The Tithetse Nkhaza initiative our team hosted a powerful engagement session with officers from the Victim Support Unit, child protection worker, and representatives of the community GBV structures we establish. Together we unpacked the key factors driving the rise in gender-based violence and child protection cases across our impact areas.

This meeting was a major step forward in deepening our collaboration with government structures especially the Department of Social Welfare and the Malawi Police Service. By working side by side we are building stronger referral pathways, faster response systems, and more trusted support for survivors in our communities.

At CMAO we believe real change happens through collaboration and continuous learning. The Tithetse Khanza program has in just a few months already proven to be an effective model for addressing GBV combining community awareness, survivor centered support, and active partnership with duty bearers.

We remain committed to walking with communities listening to frontline responders, and taking joint action to make our villages safer for women and children.

Valentine’s Day Message

Valentine’s Day is a day like any other, it should be celebrated with joy, but without too much expectations. When expectations become too high, they can lead to disappointment, stress, and even harmful thoughts.

As an organization committed to protecting the rights and well-being of young people and AGYWs, we urge everyone to remember that ;your value is not defined by gifts, attention, or relationships. Do not let the absence of a present or the discovery of a partner’s dishonesty push you toward despair.

Your future is far more important than a single moment of pain. Stay strong, focus on your goals, and protect your mental health.

At Change Makers Organization we empower Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYWs) to lead efforts in ending child marriages, increase awareness, and combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in their communities. Through trainings we equip them with knowledge and skills to say no to GBV and drive change

Empowering communities, empowering change
Our project is on a mission to reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in our communities. Our peer educators are spreading awareness on where and how to report GBV cases.

Meet Wezzie, inspiring fellow adolescent girls and young women to lead the charge against GBV. They are the leaders of today, and together we are creating a safer tomorrow for all.
