The Malawi Microfinance Network (MAMN) extends its sincere congratulations to Old Mutual Finance on its official launch, officiated by the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Dr. George Patridge last Friday, on the 28th August, 2026.

MAMN was pleased to be represented at this significant milestone by our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Duncan Phulusa, reaffirming MAMN's support for initiatives that contribute to the growth and development of the microfinance sector.

We wish Old Mutual Finance every success as it embarks on this new chapter and contributes to expanding access to inclusive and sustainable financial services in Malawi.

The Malawi Microfinance Network (MAMN) today successfully held its 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at EdgeWater Court in Lilongwe.

The meeting featured opening remarks by MAMN CEO, Mr. Duncan Phulusa, remarks from Vice Board Chairperson, Ms. Theodora Ntaba, and an official opening by the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Khumbo Mtalika, Director of Capital Markets and Microfinance Supervision at the Reserve Bank of Malawi. Members also heard remarks from FARMSE Project Coordinator, Mr. Dickson Ngwende, and MFI Hub CEO, Mr. Joseph Mayenda, and a presentation on the MAMN 2026–2030 Strategic Plan by the consultants.

The AGM concluded with members engaging in deliberations on key strategic financial and governance commitments to advance the MAMN mandate and the microfinance sector at large.
