About our Founder & Managing Director

Andile Benedict Madondo is a 26 year old qualified and part-trained professional accountant, born and raised in Soweto, a township in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was raised by his grandparents as he was orphaned from a young age. He attributes most of his achievements through the sacrifices his grandparents made together with a drive to make a better living for his family.

He obtained his BCom Financial Accounting and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting at the University of Cape Town. He then began training with the Auditor General of South Africa as an Audit Trainee in pursuant of being a Chartered Accountant with SAICA. He would then later retire during his training to pursue a personal calling as a full-time minister of the gospel.

He is currently still pursuant of his Chartered Accountancy qualification through ACCA, with aspirations of continuing his academic career through obtaining an MBA in the fields of Finance and/or Entrepreneurship.

He was attributed by DHL Gradstar in 2018 as one of the Top 100 and subsequently Top 10 students in South Africa with exceptional leadership and work readiness skills.

He is an experienced tutor who alongside tutoring Mathematics at the Numeracy Centre in University of Cape Town, he tutored University level Accounting courses privately through an online platform called Preeva.

The biggest contributors to his success were initiatives he attended during his high school career, which played a vital role in increasing his performance results and subsequently provided access for him to further his studies. One of the initiatives were Saturday classes he attended at an academy called Teboho Trust, which offered Mathematics, Accounting and Life Skills. Another initiative was run by Investec called ProMaths which offered extra lessons for Accounting and Mathematics for high school students. He would then later be a recipient of the Investec CSI Bursary to pursue his university studies

Background (About us):

The Benedict Madondo Academy is a non-profit organisation established in the Republic of South Africa. It offers tutelage, career consulting and mentorship services to high school students with the aim of improving leaner performance results and providing assistance for open and easier access to higher educational institutions, the employment market and business & trade sector. The academy aims not only to cater for the educational needs for learners under its care, but as well as their social, psychological and economic welfare.

The birth of the academy stems from an initiative that was run by a group of students from the University of Cape Town (including the founder) at a school in the rural areas of Eastern Cape in 2017. The group of students created an intervention programme which saw tutoring being done in the form of past examination paper, mock exams and evaluating the results identifying areas of improvement. The intervention was only 3 weeks, but the feedback received from the school was exceptional which saw the school improve on it’s performance for the class of 2017.

The academy thus aims to employ the same methodology and systems used during this said intervention program by identifying students who are currently in university, aiming to pay back to their communities, to do the same thing at a school where they are coming from. We, as an academy, aim to provide the platform and resources for this to be possible. We want to be able to touch every school in South Africa with the purpose of bettering the educational performance results in our nation.
