ACB launches first-of-its-kind South African pesticide compendium!
Despite the ever-increasing body of evidence of the unequivocal human and environmental harm caused by highly hazardous pesticides, these and other deadly agrotoxins have become ubiquitous in our environment, our food, and our bodies.
To bolster our calls for regulatory reform and the banning of the worst of the offenders, and the phase-out of others, ACB has launched a South African pesticide compendium that documents 100s of widespread and worrying human and environmental risks and impacts.
For the first time, this extensive body of scientific evidence of the harm caused by the chemicals used in agricultural systems and other contexts in our country can be accessed in one place in the form of a searchable (and downloadable) database.
The Compendium spans scientific research over the past 20 years, evidencing the harm caused by agrotoxins, and advocacy research and briefing papers addressing the institutional and regulatory failures.

We hope that this resource will prove invaluable to researchers and that it will support our collective efforts to hold government accountable to its constitutional duty: to protect all South Africans and our environment from harm!
