Hope for New Generation (HONEG) stands with LGBTIQA+ communities in Malawi’s rural and hard-to-reach areas, where silence, stigma, and isolation too often define daily life.

In villages far from services, many LGBTIQA+ individuals face discrimination, lack of healthcare access, and limited safe spaces to express their identities. Their struggles are invisible to most, yet their resilience is extraordinary.

At HONEG, we believe no one should be left behind. Our grassroots presence, community trust, and rights-based advocacy make us best placed to reach those who are excluded, amplify their voices, and deliver the support they deserve.

With HONEG, rural LGBTIQA+ communities are not forgotten, they are empowered. Together, we can break barriers, challenge stigma, and build a future where equality is lived everywhere, not just spoken.

In many rural and remote communities, LGBTIQA+ people continue to face unique challenges—limited access to health services, stigma and discrimination, lack of safe spaces, and exclusion from social and economic opportunities. These barriers not only silence voices but also deny individuals their basic rights to dignity, safety, and inclusion.

At Hope for New Generation, we are working tirelessly to change this reality. Our interventions include:
- Community awareness campaigns to challenge stigma and promote acceptance.
- Mobile outreach programs bringing sexual and reproductive health services closer to those who need them most.
- Safe spaces and peer support groups where LGBTIQA+ individuals can share experiences and find solidarity.
- Empowerment initiatives that build skills, confidence, and opportunities for marginalized voices.

But we cannot do this alone. To expand our reach and strengthen our impact, we need:

Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) is a fundamental need, yet for many LGBTIQA+ individuals in rural communities, it remains out of reach. Stigma, discrimination, and lack of inclusive services continue to silence voices and deny people the care they deserve.

At Hope for New Generation, we believe that health is a right, not a privilege. Every person—regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or where they live—should have safe, affirming, and confidential access to SRHR services.

Together, we can:

Across rural and marginalized communities, LGBTIQA+ individuals continue to face systemic barriers—limited access to healthcare, education, psychosocial support, and protection from discrimination. These challenges are compounded by isolation, stigma, and the absence of inclusive policies and services.

At Hope for New Generation, we recognize that sustainable development cannot be achieved without addressing the needs of all populations, including those most at risk of exclusion. Our commitment is to:

- Strengthen advocacy for inclusive policies that safeguard the rights of LGBTIQA+ persons in underserved regions.

Reflecting on Our Journey at HONEG-Malawi

At Hope for New Generation (HONEG-Malawi), we believe that every young person deserves the right to live with dignity, access opportunities, and make informed choices about their health and future.

As a youth-focused organization, our commitment is clear:

Promoting the rights of LGBTIQA+ communities by creating safe spaces where voices are heard and respected.

Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) so that young people can access accurate information, services, and support without stigma or discrimination.

Championing Family Planning (FP) as a pathway to empowerment, enabling individuals to plan their lives, education, and futures.

Defending human rights for all, because equality and justice are not privileges—they are fundamental rights.

We reflect today on the resilience of young people in Malawi and across the region. Despite challenges, they continue to rise, advocate, and lead.
