💚 373,000 doses of Vitamin A (200,000 IU)

These supplements, generously supported by Vitamin Angels, aim to improve the nutrition and health status of Malawian children by addressing key micronutrient deficiencies and deworming needs.

This initiative is a continued effort toward promoting child survival, growth, and overall well-being , ensuring that every child has the opportunity to live a healthier and brighter life.

The Anglican Council in Malawi expresses sincere gratitude to Vitamin Angels for their unwavering partnership and commitment to improving child health across Malawi.

However, there remains a noted gap in resources and support within some hospitals and communities, calling for continued collaboration to reach all children in need.

Through the Partners in Climate Change (PCC) Project, supported by United Society Partners in the Gospel (USPG), the Anglican Council in Malawi (ACM) continues to make progress in promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable waste management across Likoma, Chizumulu, Chinsapo, and Kauma communities.

This year, the project has:
Trained over 140 young climate advocates to lead waste management and composting initiatives in their parishes.
✅ Conducted mass awareness campaigns and community clean-up events, reaching more than 7,000 households with messages on proper waste disposal, recycling, and composting.
✅ Supported the formation of community-based environmental action groups
✅ Partnered with faith leaders and local authorities to develop by-laws that discourage the use of thin plastics and encourage community clean-up days.

Communities have embraced compost-making and backyard gardening, turning waste into a resource that supports household livelihoods while keeping the environment clean. The project is also amplifying its reach through radio programs on Likoma, Maziko, and Mibawa Radio, spreading the “Waste Smart , We Care” message to thousands of listeners nationwide.

The picture below shows Young advocates from Likoma Island who received training as champions of waste management in their communities.

In August, our Incubator Gardens under the Tiwerenge 365 Project in Mchnji , within the RUSA communities under T/A Kapondo, supported by Worldvision Malawi, celebrated a successful harvest of sweet potatoes ,a true testimony of community commitment .

These gardens serve as learning hubs where caregivers and parents grow nutritious food to support about 577 (M 268,F 309) children enrolled in our ECD centres. The produce boosts child nutrition while helping communities generate income to sustain essential services such CBCC maintenance.

Through training and mentorship on incubator gardening, communities have taken full ownership of the initiative , growing food and sustaining their centres with less reliance on external support.
