Our Programs Coordinator and Resource Mobilisation Officer Edward Luwanja is attending the first-ever 2026 National Youth Symposium on Public Debt taking place from August 5th to 6th at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe under the theme "Reimagining Youth Engagement, Debt Transparency & Accountability." The two-day event has brought together young leaders, policymakers, and civil society partners to discuss national budget formulation, public debt transparency, and youth inclusion in economic governance. It highlights the critical message that the nation's financial future and development cannot be decided without active youth participation.

Every great transformation begins with a conversation.

This week, our Executive Director is joining African leaders in education, entrepreneurs, and investors from across Africa at the African Leadership Academy Festival, held under the inspiring theme, "One Ecosystem, Many Pathways."

As a Fellow with African Leaders for Education (AL4Ed), she will also have the privilege of presenting on Community-Based School Design alongside Jeff Wetzler if Transcend sharing how locally led solutions and meaningful partnerships with communities can unlock lasting change in education.

At MATCH Foundation, we believe the most powerful solutions don't happen for communities they are created with them.

As we learn from and contribute to a growing network of African education leaders, we remain committed to building inclusive, equitable, and community-driven education systems where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

We wish our Executive Director a productive and inspiring experience as she represents MATCH Foundation and Malawi on this continental platform.

Every meaningful partnership begins with one thing: trust.

Earlier this week, we had the privilege of hosting one of our funders from Australia, Partners for Equity (PFE) who were joined by Rachel Szekely of the Szekely Family Foundation as well as Ros Grady & Peter Bardsley. Their visit was not simply to showcase our work, but to open our doors, share our vision, and invite them into the stories that are transforming lives every day.

As they walked through campus, we led them to experience our Agripreneurship project, reading circle using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL), arts and engineering using the Project-Based Learning (PBL), briquette making process held at our skills center, as well as the sports activities under the Play and Stay sports program, they met the people who matter most: our children and young women. They heard firsthand how new skills are creating opportunities, how confidence is replacing uncertainty, and how hope is becoming action.

For us, visits like these are more than project reviews. They are a reminder that trust-based funding is built on genuine relationships, shared learning, and confidence in communities to lead their own change. When local leaders and funders sit at the table and choose to listen to each other, they help create solutions that are lasting, locally driven, and deeply impactful.

To the Partners for Equity team the Szekely Family Foundation as well as Ros Grady & Peter Bardsley, thank you for the conversations that lead to the right kind of questions, for taking the time to learn with us, celebrate our progress, and believe in our vision. Together, we're proving that when trust leads, transformation follows.

Have you ever wondered what happens when organizations come together with one goal; to learn, share, and create greater impact?

On Friday, 17 July 2026, that story unfolded as we welcomed the iMind Organization from Blantyre for a learning visit.

Our conversations went beyond ideas; they focused on how we can work together to strengthen mental health initiatives, expand access to support, and ensure more young people are seen, heard, and empowered.

To everyone who believes in the power of collaboration, this is your story too. Together, we can learn more, achieve more, and create the lasting impact our communities deserve.

Our Executive Director, Tadala Kandulu Ngosi, is representing MATCH Foundation at The Next Beat 2026, hosted by the Segal Family Foundation in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Next Beat is a dynamic gathering of nonprofit leaders, social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and changemakers from across Africa and beyond. The event creates space to share innovative ideas, strengthen partnerships, exchange practical solutions, and explore bold approaches to advancing community-led development.

Earlier this morning, she led a session titled, "Hey, Leader Are You Okay?" A wellness session that allowed leaders to be vulnerable, share self-care for work life balance.

We are proud to have Tadala representing MATCH Foundation as we continue to learn, collaborate, and build meaningful partnerships that create lasting impact for children, young people, and communities in Malawi.
