We are pleased to share the findings from the Barrier Analysis conducted through the EU-funded Titukulane Project, in collaboration with the Malawi Human Rights Commission.

Presented last month, the study explores the barriers affecting the socio-economic inclusion of persons with albinism across six districts in Malawi.

These findings will help Standing Voice to strengthen advocacy efforts and tailor programmes that drive meaningful improvements in the socio‑economic status of people with albinism nationwide.

A proud milestone! The Titukulane Project was officially launched on 16 October 2025 at the MACODA Training Centre in Lilongwe 🎉

The launch brought together government leaders, development partners, civil society, and the albinism community—standing together for empowerment, inclusion, and equal opportunity.

“Titukulane” means Empowerment, a powerful name for a project committed to advancing dignity, opportunity, and the full participation of persons with albinism in Malawi 💫

Implemented in partnership with Standing Voice, Girls Empowerment Network, and Beyond Suncare, and co-funded by the European Union in Malawi and Fondation Pierre Fabre, the project drives inclusive development through strong collaboration across sectors.
