This is how we concluded our Saturday, 22 October 2022

Gwero CBO, in collaboration and strong partnership with Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM), joined the excitement at Kasuntha for the Football Bonanza between Kayembe FC and Kasuntha United.

Before the match, we spent time engaging with youths on topics aimed at sharpening mindsets, building skills, and inspiring them to achieve their best potential.

We strongly value opportunities to interact with young people, sharing experiences and insights that can positively upgrade their attitudes and outlooks.

The game between Kayembe FC and Kasuntha United was played in great harmony, and in the 90th minute, Kayembe FC emerged victorious with a goal in their favor, bringing joy and celebration to the team.

We look forward to visiting and engaging with many more youths across different areas, continuing to inspire, motivate, and support them.

We could never have imagined that the event would take us this far. Seeing Lisandwa Youth Organization and Kawamba Youth Network from Kasungu join Kayembe Youth Network in a synergic visit was truly inspiring. The triumph was remarkable, especially reflected in the faces of the youths who actively participated throughout the day.

As Gwero CBO, we are proud to witness the progress we are making through the numerous youths constantly engaging with us. This demonstrates that we are offering meaningful opportunities and support for young people’s growth. Our mission remains steadfast: providing solutions that youths can embrace to respond effectively to challenges affecting their daily lives. We aim to engage even more youths, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of ideas, skills, and experiences that empower everyone to thrive.

Special thanks to those who joined this conference despite the abrupt arrangements: Senior Chief Kayembe, Ireen Kabanga (ADC Chair), Mr. Wilson Grey Mkanakufa (MHRC Rep), and others whose contributions were invaluable. Your presence uplifted us and energized the event.

Honorable Jairos Bonongwe, Member of Parliament representing Kasungu West, escorted our transients and served as Guest of Honor. His speech was unifying and thought-provoking, addressing issues that sparked the interest and engagement of youths. He emphasized:

"Achinyamata ozitsata akumayenera kumachitapo kanthu kuti asamve ululu nthawi imene zinthu sizikuyenda bwino mdziko. Wachinyamata osazitsana amafuna kalikonse azipempha, akamanidwa azipsa mtima. We need to take our responsibilities seriously and step up for our own progress."

The day was further enriched with comedies, poetry, dances, and other cultural activities that celebrated youth talent and creativity.

Today, as Gwero Community Based Organization, we had a meaningful and productive engagement with our local community leaders, including village chiefs and members of the VDC committee. This gathering was not just a meeting, but a shared commitment to the development and upliftment of our community.

We outlined our strategic agenda focused on advancing the well-being of every community member—ensuring access to opportunities, education, and sustainable development initiatives. Such engagements reaffirm the vital role of traditional and local leadership in shaping the future of our communities. Chiefs and committee members are not merely custodians of tradition, but pivotal partners in driving practical solutions that transform lives.

By fostering dialogue, collaboration, and mutual understanding, we aim to build a community where progress is shared, every voice is valued, and no one is left behind. Together, we are planting seeds today that will grow into a stronger, more prosperous tomorrow for all.

At Gwero CBO, we are ambitious and focused, and working with youths always fills us with pride.

We are increasingly engaging in agriculture, with special attention on profitable farming ventures. Many youths are making remarkable progress in this sector. As shown in the pictures below, Lisandwa Youth Organization is maximizing its time through fish farming, with a dam large enough to supply fish for commercial purposes.

Currently, some youths in Nambuma are negotiating another project to establish a farm. Stay tuned for updates on these exciting initiatives.

Determination or rather grit will take one to places. It is all someone's needs and guessed right we all have it just that we don't utilize our abilities.

Start letting go of the difficulties in your life. The least you can do is to avoid giving yourself time to dwell on them.

No matter the task ahead, bring your full energy, attention, and presence to it. Approach each task with the best qualities you possess and let your enthusiasm shine through.

Embrace challenges so that you won’t live with the regret of what could have been. It is never too late to start again. Without experiencing the hardest moments of life, we often fail to appreciate the goodness that tomorrow can bring. Sometimes, we must taste the bitterness of life to truly value its sweetness.
