About Friends of Hope International
Friends of Hope International is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that provides comprehensive prevention and management of chronic diseases including mental and behavioral health services in Lilongwe, Malawi. Our mission is to contribute to people’s ability to achieve their full potential regardless of any chronic diseases and/or life stressors.
The founders of Friends of Hope International come from both medical and social service backgrounds. We strongly believe that for human beings to be whole, their social needs which include mental health and physical medical needs, ought to be met.
Friends of Hope International runs integrated Static and outreach health clinics which are licensed by the Medical Council of Malawi and Malawi Association of Counselors. “Integrated” means a patient’s care team includes both medical and mental health professionals in one setting, delivering services, as needed. The first functional clinic is in Area 51 in Lilongwe, Malawi. The Friends of Hope clinic provides chronic care and mental health services.
