Farewell Amber!🌸
On 24 April 2026, we bid farewell to our amazing volunteer Amber Farrell who served as a Communication and Visibility Officer from September 2025 to April 2026.

With passion, Amber dedicated 7 months of service and played a key role in making Kawjo more visible through designing posts, producing monthly newsletters, capturing and editing videos that showcased our impact, launching our LinkedIn and Instagram pages and teaching our team how best they can make Kawjo’s work seen.

To celebrate her journey, we also gave her a taste of Malawian culture by teaching her how to cook Nsima, enjoying local foods such as okra, pumpkin leaves and boiled local chicken with her and gave her the chance to share her experiences and memories with the team.

Thank you, Amber for your dedication and the impact you’ve made. We wish you all the best in your career and safe journey back to Canada.

And a big thank you to our partner WUSC - Malawi !!

Empowering Change in Agribusiness!!
We are proud to have been trained as Gender makes Business Sense (GmBS) trainers by GIZ Malawi through the WE4D project.

Using an approach that empowers women both socially and economically, Kawjo team is currently conducting GmBS trainings with fish farmer groups in Dowa and Dedza districts equipping them with skills to adopt more inclusive and sustainable business practices.

The approach encourages doing business differently by addressing the social norms, beliefs, and practices that shape gender roles. When these barriers are transformed, businesses can achieve better outcomes through increased profitability, inclusivity and sustainability.

Real change begins with a shift in mindset starting with ME, WE and ALL OF US.
Together we are building a stronger, more inclusive and economically empowered communities.

Happy International Women’s Day💗!

The Kawjo Foundation proudly celebrates the strength, resilience, and leadership of women in our communities. Across all of our programs, we are committed to ensuring that women are not only included but also empowered as leaders and changemakers. We work alongside women farmers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who are driving sustainable solutions for their families and communities every day.

We are levelling up our storytelling game💪!
Last week, our team participated in an internal communication and visibility training facilitated by our Communication and Visibility Officer Amber Farrell through our partnership with World University of Canada WUSC - Malawi.

At Kawjo we believe that the work happening in our communities needs to be seen and heard. As such, the training focused on building our capacity to effectively share the work we do through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, WordPress, Video editing using CapCut and graphic design using Canva.

To us, this is more than just social media. It's about telling the story of innovation, hard work and resilience in action. It has ensured our team to confidently make our impact visible, well documented and professionally communicated through the social platforms.

We are grateful to WUSC - Malawi for supporting organizational capacity building at Kawjo.

Stay connected with us, exciting content is coming your way🤩💪!!
