LLGG is open to anyone passionate and serious. LLGG currently has ~100 people from ~55 organizations (gov, ngo,
groups, and individuals) who are passionate about greening our city. LLGG started in 2017 when Permaculture Network in Malawi members contacted the LCCβs health and sanitation department to suggest role-modelling environmental practices through their staff, which at the time were sweeping and burning leaves. In 2018 the interaction expanded to designs for water harvesting and greening, which then expanded into the current green team. LLGG has a terms of reference that liaises with the LCCβs Lilongwe City Environmental Working Group and focuses on high-level advisory services, whereas the LLGG assists on coordinating and action. We use the information to create a stakeholder map to see who is doing what and where. The LLGG aims for representation and coordination with all 27 wards. We also follow advice on improving LCC activities from their guiding documents. Anyone can view the member map and search through it. There are instructions on the website on how to use it:
