Yesterday, Malawi celebrated the 2024 International Youth Day in Machinga, under the theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for the Achievement of Malawi 2063.” The event highlighted the transformative role of digital technology in achieving the nation’s long-term goals.
During pavilion tour, Staff Nyoni Programmer S. Nyoni And Uppeh Arced shared incredible stories of how Save the Children Malawi is empowering young people with digital skills. I Focused much on the Shift project, where drone technology is used to map waste and improve waste management in local markets with support from the Drone Tech Giant Wind Ride Aeros . Staff Nyoni showcased his innovative through the Future M project, which offers online lessons to visually impaired children after regular school hours.
The event was graced by the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports, Uchizi Mkandawire, who emphasized the vital role of digital empowerment for achieving the Malawi 2063 blueprint.
