It's Today. Let's ALL get set

Join YASD this Thursday (tomorrow) for an interactive Mental Health Awareness Session where we'll have honest conversations, share insights, and learn how to take better care of ourselves and each other.

Mental health affects us all, yet many people still struggle in silence. Let's come together to break the stigma, promote understanding, and create a culture where seeking support is encouraged.

Our M&E team visited Shyreen Henry, a 19-year-old beneficiary of our Initiative.
In a community where many young people do not have jobs, Shyreen decided to start small. Using the little allowance she received during the training we conducted and she started a business selling Zigege.
Today, she is able to earn some money and support herself.

Shyreen says, “I want to encourage other girls that we can rely on ourselves. When we have our own income, we can make better choices and reduce gender-based violence.”

She also has a dream to grow her business and create jobs for other young people.

Her story shows that even small support can help change a life.

Our officers participated in a screen printing training hosted today by BOMA ZONE Youth Network facilitated by the Lilongwe DYN Chairperson.

The training targeted young people, who learned by doing the work themselves. This made it easy to understand and enjoy the session.

This training supports the National Youth Policy Malawi and Malawi Vision 2063, which aim to equip young people with skills to face economic challenges and find opportunities.

By learning screen printing, young people can start small businesses and help to grow the economy of Malawi.

This initiative is local and very Simple: using sport as a tool for development.

Our Sport for Development project is showing that when SRH services and youth engagement are brought closer to the community reaching hundreds of young people every weekend sustainable impact becomes possible.

Supporting initiatives like these will translate the Health Sector Strategic Plan III(HSSP III) into action at community level. Turning policy into real measurable impact for young people pa Ground.

“I am happy to have represented our organization at today’s Financial Capital Market Summit. I learned how the Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE) works and how young people can buy and sell shares to grow their money.
Many young people from my community do not know about these opportunities, but with the right information, we can all start investing even with small amounts. I will also share what I learned with the rest of the team I represented so that we can better understand and take advantage of the stock market.” — Faith Njumila
