International Mental Health Week is going on very well in Salima. The event is full of sessions and fun. Hence, building a strong family that supports mental health. On Monday the 30th of March, in the morning Ralf Feldhaus, visited the Scouts Association of Malawi to give a courtesy call to the National Executive Commissioner, Mr Howard Maujo. With 40 years of experience in scouting, Ralf comes to support scouting in Malawi. He will take part in Mental Health Awareness in Salima and Second Phase Woodbage Training organised by Scout Association of Malawi and Catholic Scout Association of Malawi. Later in the day Ralf Feldhaus, visited the Auxiliary Bishop Vincent Mwakhwawa to give a courtesy call.

Bishop welcomed Ralf to Malawi and he thanked the Scouts for the good work they are doing in the Church.

On his part Ralf, explained how vital the Catholic scouts is in the Church for it integrats faith and scouting adventures, fostering spiritual growth, and engaging in service projects. Scout serves as a youth ministry that strengthens young people's relationship with Jesus, promotes Catholic leadership, and supports parish life through acts of service and community outreach. He further said that he will take part in training junior scouts, rovers and adults scouts in the Dioceses of Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Karonga in the next six weeks that he will be in the country.

He comes to take part in facilitating a training organised by the Catholic Scouts. Ralf is a Scout from Germany and one of our partners.

CATHOLIC CUB CLEAN UP AT FULIWA HEALTH CENTER

In line with recent clean-up initiatives taking place across Malawi, including those in the Karonga/Doroba area, Catholic Cub Scouts recently conducted a sanitation exercise at Fulirwa Health Centre to promote cleanliness and prevent disease outbreaks such as cholera.

The initiative aimed at improving hygiene standards by removing waste and maintaining a clean environment for patients, health workers, and visitors at the facility.

During the exercise, the scouts actively participated in various activities including sweeping the premises, clearing debris, and cleaning the surroundings of the health centre.

The activity also aligns with the Malawi Government’s National Clean-Up Campaign, which encourages communities to maintain cleanliness in their areas on a regular basis.
