KARONGA YOUTH PARLIAMENT: THE EVIDENCE IS IN

Do you remember the last session of the Karonga Youth Parliament on Tuntufye FM, when the Opposition demanded evidence that MEDEF had received funding for youth economic empowerment under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF)?

Today, the Youth Parliament took the debate a step further.

We were joined by Mr. Victor Mlusu, Senior Credit Analyst at MEDEF, who provided evidence confirming the availability of funds for youth economic empowerment under CDF.

We also heard from Mr. Vincent Simfukwe, a representative of a youth club from Baka, who shared the challenges young people are facing in accessing the Youth Economic Empowerment Fund.

The question is no longer simply whether the funds exist, but why young people are still struggling to access them.

What did the Youth Parliament make of this evidence? What did the youth representative have to say? And where does the responsibility lie?

Today, the Karonga Youth Parliament was at it again at Tuntufye Community Radio! 🎙️

The Youth Parliament is now a weekly radio programme, giving young people in Karonga an opportunity to listen, engage and follow discussions on issues that matter to them every Saturday on Tuntufye Community Radio.

This month, the Youth Parliament is focusing on one important question: How are young people in Karonga benefiting from the K100 million Youth Empowerment Fund under CDF?

Karonga Youth Parliament today held its inaugural radio session on Tuntufye Community Radio.

The programme provides a platform for young people to discuss development issues, share ideas, and amplify youth voices in our communities. We are encouraged to see the Youth Parliament concept growing into a practical tool for youth advocacy and civic engagement.
