Will anyone help please? We have one new sponsor…can we have another today please?

WE ARE LOOKING FOR FRIENDS & SPONSORS

Could you become a FRIEND of BRIGHT FUTURES SECONDARY SCHOOL? We are looking for more supporters would would be willing to make a monthly donation towards the running costs of Bright Futures Secondary School.

Our school was built specifically for vulnerable teenagers who are living in extreme poverty as there were not enough places in local schools. Most of these young people are orphans living with extended family.
They are thriving at Bright Futures Secondary School and know that education is their way out of poverty. As it’s a small private school, we are paying the teachers salaries and all other running costs.

We ensure the students have a nutritious cooked lunch each day which, for most, is their only food each day. There is no point educating them if they are hungry and cannot concentrate.

The more sponsors we can match with students, to help with costs, the more students can attend BFSS and have a brighter future. Sponsoring a young person is £25 per month. Would you like to sponsor a student and give them a helping hand with opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise have had?

We are also looking for FRIENDS of BRIGHT FUTURES SECONDARY SCHOOL to make a monthly donation which will ensure we have enough exercise books, footballs, netballs and all the other resources that need to be bought at the start of each new school year. Costs are always rising and YOUR HELP WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Yesterday, Levison Mlambya - Director of Bright Futures Secondary School & Co Founder of The William Stewart Foundation, along with Elisha Kanyimbo - Deputy Head Teacher of Bright Futures Secondary School and Arnold Ng’ambi, one of the trustees of The William Stewart Foundation visited Chisenga Secondary School.

A few days ago, whilst students were sitting exams, a fire broke out in one of the girls’ hostels at the school. Thankfully, no one was hurt but everything belonging to those girls were destroyed. Various organisations have been offering support.

Levison, Elisha & Arnold took gifts of clothes, towels, soap and some bedding and everyone was very thankful for this help.

When Sarah & Liz from Changing Lives Malawi visited recently, they left some money to buy fabric for dressmaking. Sarah asked that wrapper skirts be made from some of the fabric and a wrapper skirt also be given to each of the girls affected by the fire.

It will take everyone a while to get over this fire but they know that others care about them and that people come together in a crisis.

A great film by Liz and Levison. Good progress being made but, as there are hundreds of malnourished children to feed each week, the maize being grown will unfortunately only last for two weeks. Lots more support is needed.

Missing all our friends in already, especially this friend Levison Mlambya . He looked after us so well and the hospitality we received was amazing. He is such a kind, humble person with real love in his heart for the vulnerable in his community. Leading a as well as setting up projects from scratch, is a huge undertaking. Proud of you Levison and so glad we’ve finally met in person. This community needs so much help as they are in such a remote location. The William Stewart Foundation. William Stewart Foundation, a charitable non-profit organisation, has reaffirmed its commitment to bringing hope and a brighter future through education and sustainable development in Chitipa.

Speaking during a District Executive Committee (DEC) meeting to introduce a new project, the foundation’s Executive Director, Levison Mlambya, highlighted the organisation's dedication to supporting the community.

Mlambya stated that their primary goal is to ensure orphans and vulnerable children have access to quality education, as the organisation has constructed a free secondary school at Ibuluma, in the area of Senior Chief Mwenewenya, where students also receive free meals.

The newly appointed District Commissioner for Chitipa, Charles Mhone, commended the foundation’s efforts. He noted that the initiative aligns with the government's vision of providing free secondary education and calls for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to improve the livelihoods of people across the district.
