Benefits of PofIS Project to Vision for Development

In Traditional Authority Likoswe, Chiradzulu District, Vision for Development has long worked to improve the lives of local communities. While the organization was active and committed, it recognized a critical need to strengthen its internal systems to ensure accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability. This realization marked the beginning of a transformative journey made possible through the generous support of the NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA).

Before the intervention, Vision for Developing was driven by passion, commitment, and strong community trust. However ,like many grassroots organizations, it faced institution limitations in policy framework systems and structured governance .Recognizing this gap, Vision for Development implemented a carefully planned capacity-building project, successfully executed as designed using NGORAs funding not merely as financial support but as an investment in the organization’s future resilience and credible at a critical time. The project focused on strengthening governance, improving operational systems, and developing key organizational policies that would guide the institution into the future.

Participants to a Board of Trustees training in Cooperate governance held at Kathiti Lodge in Chiradzulu

A central achievement of the project was the strengthening of the Board of Trustees. Through training and active participation, the Board gained improved capacity in oversight, accountability, and strategic decision-making. A Board Charter was developed, clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and ethical standards. This shift brought clarity to leadership and ensured that decisions are now made in the best interest of the organization and its stakeholders.

The heart of the transformation lay in the development
