Development Initiative Network

Development Initiative Network Established in February 2012, DIN addresses the needs and challenges affecting vulnerable communities in Chikwawa and Nsanje.

Development Initiative Network (DIN) is a local non-profit organization working in the Lower Shire southern region of Malawi to respond to the needs and challenges affecting vulnerable communities in Chikwawa district. We believe for change to be effective and for sustainable development to materialize, it is the affected communities which need to be the primary drivers of the process. Our aim is

to empower a network of community groups and organizations and to ensure they have access to adequate resources and training in order to tackle poverty. By partnering with local and international individuals and government organizations, we implement specific projects supporting Health & Agriculture, Gender Equality & Education programs.

Behind this graph are real families.
So far, we have managed to support 24 out of 320 households affected by floods in Chikwawa. That means 296 families are still waiting for seeds to restart their lives.

We are deeply grateful to all our donors and friends who have made this first step possible. Your support has already brought hope, dignity, and a chance for recovery to the families we have reached.
Every bar on this chart tells a story of hope and a gap that still needs to be filled.

Together, we can close this gap.
Your continued support today can help another family plant tomorrow.

Urgent appeal for flood!🔴❗️
Chikwawa District in Malawi is currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to unpreceded heavy rains and flooding. It destroyed homes, crops, and livestock across many communities including 320 households directly supported by DIN Malawi. The situation is particularly dire for vulnerable populations, including people living with HIV, who are now confronting acute food shortages.

At this painful moment, they need our compassion and support. Any little contribution will help us buy food, blankets, and other basic relief items for affected households.

Together, we can bring relief, hope, and dignity to flood-affected families.👫

Please donate whatever you can. Every contribution counts.
