On 29th October 2025, Wungwero Book Foundation (WBF) alongside Development Aid from People to People (DAPP), University of Malawi (UNIMA) and Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) under the umbrella African Library Project-Malawi (ALP-M) programme received books from ALP-US. The event took place at Maselema at DAPP Warehouse. Before the offloading from the container started, Patrick Jafali of DAPP and ALP-M Coordinator asked members to observe a minute of silence for two fallen heroes, Jessy Mphunda of UNIMA and A.B.K. Munthali of WBF who passed away on 8th and 28th July 2025, May their Souls Rest in Peace.
Addressing the gathering, Patrick emphasized the importance of togetherness in the offloading while taking into account of each of the four organisations materials. He thanked all for coming to participate in this very important occasion which will continue giving out reading materials to marginalized local communities in Malawi.
By 3:00 PM we were all through and had started off dispatching the books to their final destinations.
