Fundraising for Malawi

🇲🇼 A LITTLE MALAWI UPDATE — AND I NEED YOUR HELP! 🇲🇼

As many of you will know, things have been a little quiet on here for a while.

Moving house, followed by what turned into rather a lot of renovation work, has meant that getting another shipment out to Malawi has unfortunately been delayed much longer than I ever intended.

But I haven’t forgotten about it — far from it. ❤️

Thanks to everyone’s incredible generosity, I now have two large barrels that I want to get packed up and on their way to Stella.

And before anybody gets any ideas… I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE DONATIONS! 😂❤️ I have plenty to fill them!

My problem is shipping.

Since moving, I’ve lost touch with the gentleman I previously used to arrange the shipments. I’ve tried contacting him again but haven’t had any luck, so I’m now trying to find a new, reliable and affordable way of getting the barrels from Essex to Malawi. 🇬🇧➡️🇲🇼

I’ve spent the last few weeks contacting shipping companies, charities, UK–Malawi organisations and the British High Commission, but I’m still waiting to hear back.

So I’m putting it out to all of you because sometimes Facebook can work its magic!

Does anyone know someone who regularly ships goods to Malawi? Perhaps you know a Malawian family who sends things home, a charity with space in a container, a reliable freight company, or simply someone who knows someone.

I’m not asking for free shipping. I’m happy to fundraise towards the cost as I’ve done before. I just need to find the right route to get these barrels there.

So for once, please don’t send me clothes, shoes, toys or anything else! 😂 What I’d really love from you is contacts, recommendations and shares.

It has taken me longer than I’d hoped to get back to this after the move and renovations, but I’m determined to get these barrels out to Stella. ❤️🇲🇼

Urgent Help Needed for a Mother and Son in Malawi 🌧️💙

Hi everyone, I want to share the story of a woman in Malawi who urgently needs our help. My friend recently told me about her – a resilient mother caring for her son, who has disabilities, on her own. She’s doing everything she can to give him a safe and loving home, but she’s facing a huge obstacle right now.

Meet Gogo Nabiyeni, a resilient widow in her 60s who cares for her son with disabilities. She has shown incredible strength, but her situation has become dire.

🏚️ Gogo's house is in urgent need of renovation, especially the roof, which is leaking and unsafe. With the rainy season approaching, time is of the essence!

💔 Gogo can barely afford to feed herself and her son, let alone fix their home. We are reaching out to all kind-hearted souls to help us raise funds to renovate her house and provide a safe environment for them.

Looking ahead, we are excited about our future plans to support women in the villages. We aim to send out sewing equipment to help empower women by providing them with the tools they need to create sustainable livelihoods.
