Exciting Developments for Blantyre

We were honored to represent and participate in a crucial stakeholder meeting convened by CCODE at Blantyre City Council!

The focus? The upcoming Slum Dwellers International (SDI) Project- a 2-year transformative initiative that promises to change lives in Blantyre’s informal settlements!

What we learned:

-150-200 youth will be empowered to collect and use community data
-Real employment and entrepreneurship pathways are being created
-Pro-poor innovations will be developed BY the community, FOR the community
-Urban policies will be influenced to ensure inclusive development

This project puts slum dwellers at the CENTER of change!

We’re proud to be part of the conversation alongside Blantyre City Council, CCODE, community representatives, and fellow stakeholders working together for a more inclusive city.

Participatory approaches.
Youth-led innovation. Community-driven solutions. This is how transformation happens!

Grateful to be part of this journey toward better housing, basic services, and urban inclusion for all!

As we continue to celebrate International Youth Day, Case Rolent Case a MenEngage Malawi member shared his reflection.
"Youth are not just tomorrow’s leaders, they are today’s changemakers. With courage, creativity, and conviction, they rise to reimagine a better world. Your voice matters. Your actions inspire. Keep shining and shaping the future. you can make choices but remember you have a right to Sexual Reproductive Health."

AYISE BANGWE YOUTH CENTRE HOSTS THRILLING MAYOR's TROPHY FINALS

On 15th November 2024, AYISE Bangwe Youth Centre had the privilege of hosting the highly anticipated Mayor's Trophy finals, featuring exciting matches between talented young netballers and footballers from local primary schools.

In the football category, Namatapa Primary School clashed with Bangwe Catholic Primary School, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Meanwhile, the netball finals Namatapa Primary School competed against Chigumula Primary School, displaying their agility and determination.

As a safe space for adolescents and young people to develop and showcase their talents, AYISE Bangwe Youth Centre was honored to provide a platform for these young stars to shine. The Centre's mission is to provide a platform, empower young people and events like these demonstrate the importance of providing opportunities for growth and development.

We extend our congratulations to all participating teams on their outstanding performances and sportsmanship. AYISE Bangwe Youth Centre looks forward to hosting more exciting events in the future.
