Self-defence is more than learning how to fight back—it is about building confidence, courage, discipline and resilience among young girls.

Through SAPOF's self-defence programme, many girls are now able to walk to school without fear, stand up against abuse and remain focused on their education.

When girls feel safe, they attend school more regularly, participate confidently in their communities and pursue their dreams without fear.

As we come to the end of Menstrual Health Awareness month, remember;

Menstruation is natural, normal and should never be a reason for shame, discrimination, or exclusion.

Every woman and girl deserves dignity, respect, support, and access to menstrual health education and products without fear of stigma.

Forging ahead, let us challenge harmful myths, speak openly about menstrual health, and create safe spaces where girls can learn, grow, and thrive confidently.

No girl should miss school, opportunities, or feel less because of her period.

Together, we can build a society that empowers women and girls instead of judging them.
