Some pictures from our past graduations not seen before. The parents and family members are so proud of their sons and daughters. It really humbling to be a part of it.
Enjoy.

Just to catch up on events held at the College last year.
Jo Liddle the Head of HR for FCB bank brought her team with her to run a workshop on Interview techniques for our college students. Was fantastic and the students learned alot about how to conduct themselves and promote themselves during an interview. Thank Jo and your team.

Final day of our 3 day workshop training a new group of volunteer Peer Educators. What a workshop it was. This group of secondary school students sooo keen to learn how to assist learners struggling in their local primary school. Lots of participation and questions answered by the teachers who volunteer as Patrons to supervise the Homework Centres. 73 new Peer Educators ready to assist the over 200 learners from 5 primary schools in rural Chileka. Enjoy the pics.

Just want to let all our friends know that we are having a Graduation Ceremony next Fri 23rd August for our 5th cohort of students in Professional Cookery and Tailoring. The celebration includes performances from current and graduating students and speeches from an alumni now in full time employment and a current graduating student as well as the owner of a major hotel in Blantyre that has employed awarded another of our past graduates. We will post pics and a video for you to enjoy. Due to devaluation in the kwacha since our last Grad ceremony prices have skyrocketed to Aud$1,700. We do provide presents to all the 25 Graduating students as well as a lunch for approximately 150 students, family and other guests. We have received donations from several friends of Mwayi but are a little short. So if any of our friends reading this are able to assist in anyway please contact me. Thank you. A couple of pics from last year's graduation ceremony to pique your interest.

Just an update on the house we built for the 3 children with no parents. Finally got to do a handover last Sunday. The road to get there was really terrible in parts but got there safely. The Village Headman lead the ceremony and was very happy that we had decided to help these children. The kids are soo young and being looked after by a not much older relative. They now have somewhere safe to live. Very happy to assist this family. ###

Just want to share another positive story with you. Sharon who only just completed her 1yr course in Professional Cookery in December last year is now a permanent employee at La Caverna Cafe. I met her today and talked with her bosses to learn that they are very happy with both her professionalism and work ethic. Saying that she is a quick learner and prepared to do whatever is asked of her. Congratulations Sharon. ###
