Our senior boys and girls have embarked on an exciting journey of learning coding and programming languages. It is truly fascinating to witness how adeptly the children navigate the computer. The future looks incredibly promising for them.
Our dedicated intern volunteer worked tirelessly to ensure that every child understood the lessons. Many of the students are currently learning to improve their English speaking skills, and Uncle Andrew, the Director) encouraged everyone to communicate in English during their time at Butterfly. This approach fosters a faster learning environment, where the director, Uncle Andrew, consistently supports their efforts, no matter how broken their English might be.
It was inspiring to see the children confidently giving commands to the computer, resulting in outcomes that amazed them. They truly enjoyed the basics of programming and coding, and they also learned how to work with the trackpad, mastering essential skills such as clicking and dragging. Their determination to understand how to use the trackpad was remarkable, as they helped one another with hands-on guidance while applying the commands they learned.
Witnessing the joy on the children’s faces as their commands produced responses, even in voice format, was heartwarming. For 100% of these children, this was their first experience using a computer, as many government schools lack access to computer labs. Butterfly recognizes the need to introduce digital education, ensuring that our children are not left behind in a world driven by technology. Providing them with foundational computer skills at a young age is crucial for their development.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our intern volunteer for being so committed to making this learning experience enjoyable for the children. The class turned out to be a blend of computer skills and English language instruction, highlighting the importance of both areas. For optimal engagement, the class was divided into two groups, enhancing the learning environment for everyone involved.
Together, we are laying the groundwork for a brighter, more technologically advanced future for our children.
