Today, we organized a cleanup event at Namatete in gratitude for enrolling the children from our Butterfly Foundation for Peace in school. One of our enrichment projects focuses on community service, and we had the opportunity to visit Namatete School to sweep the grounds and pick up plastic waste.

It was an inspiring day, as our former students from Namatete proudly showed their friends around the school and introduced them to their teachers. The turnout of children was impressive, demonstrating their commitment to the program.

We also visited the trees we planted last year, and it was heartwarming to see that many of them have survived. This symbolizes our love and dedication to the school. The children were filled with joy when they saw the trees they planted just a year ago; they have grown significantly with support from the Bradford West Rotary Club.

After admiring the trees, we held an engaging class about the importance of caring for our environment and planting trees. We recognized some immediate needs at the school, particularly the lack of gloves for toilet cleaning. To teach our children about kindness and generosity, we donated gloves to the school to assist them when cleaning the toilets. The headmaster was very grateful for this donation.

Overall, it was a fulfilling day of service and learning, uniting our community and inspiring the next generation to care for their environment.

Last year our brother Nitay was particularly inspired to see a handful of children dreaming of becoming engineers, a passion that resonates deeply with him. Upon returning to Israel, he connected us with the RoboActive #2096 STEM program, setting the stage for an incredible partnership and support.

This year, he fulfilled his promise to return with an engaging project for the Butterfly children. Although his visit was brief, it left a profound impact on the young minds of Malawi. During this visit, children were introduced to the world of science in a hands-on way. The teamwork displayed as they collaborated to create their own cars was both impressive and heartwarming. The joy they found in playing with their creations afterwards was truly mind-blowing.

The tools and resources that Nitay brought to the foundation are a blessing, igniting a newfound love for engineering among the children. Remarkably, nearly half of our Butterflies shifted their dreams towards engineering after the car-making day.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to for their unwavering support in introducing this STEM initiative to our children. A special thanks goes to our brother Nitay for facilitating this project and for bringing everything from Israel to Malawi. Your dedication is making a meaningful difference in the lives of our former street children. Thank you for believing in their potential and empowering them to dream big!
