At Reefscapers, our team is constantly building new coral frames, transplanting resilient coral fragments, and monitoring reef health to track growth, biodiversity, and recovery over time. From fish populations to coral survival rates, every survey helps us better understand and protect these fragile ecosystems for the future.

What starts as a simple metal frame can become a living reef filled with life. 🐠✨

Sea turtles navigate thousands of kilometres of ocean…
but sometimes a single piece of discarded fishing gear changes everything.

This coming week, we’ll be sharing more about turtle conservation and the work being done at Reefscapers to help injured and entangled turtles in the Maldives — including a conversation with our turtle veterinarian, Tagua! 🐢🩺

Earth Day 🌍

A day dedicated to environmental protection, raising awareness, and encouraging action for the health of our planet.

For coral reefs, that action is becoming increasingly important.

At Reefscapers, we work on restoring areas by constructing coral frames, securing fragments, and tracking their development as they grow into functioning reef structures.

These efforts help rebuild habitats for marine life and strengthen reef resilience in the face of environmental change!

Every frame placed is a small but tangible step towards a healthier ocean.

Multiple species are regularly seen across these waters, where we also carry out ongoing research to better understand and protect them. 🔬

Meet Acropora nasuta — small but striking, with tapered greenish branches and bright blue or purple tips (usually) that are easy to spot once you know them!!

Widespread across the Indo-Pacific, from the Red Sea to the central Pacific, this species is now considered near threatened and is highly sensitive to bleaching and disease.

Definitely worth protecting this beautiful coral!
