Today, the United Nations in the Maldives, together with the Government of Maldives and national stakeholders, held the Validation Workshop for the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2027–2031. 🇲🇻🇺🇳
The workshop served as an important platform to review and validate the draft Cooperation Framework that will guide the partnership between the UN and the Maldives over the next five years.
Representatives from government institutions, civil society, development partners, youth organizations, the private sector, academia, and UN agencies came together to share insights, strengthen priorities, and ensure the framework reflects the aspirations and needs of the people of Maldives.
The discussions also reflected the priorities of the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS), the new 10-year programme of action for Small Island Developing States, emphasizing resilience, climate action, sustainable development, partnerships, and inclusive approaches tailored to the unique vulnerabilities and strengths of SIDS.
Through an inclusive and participatory process, the UNSDCF aims to support national priorities and accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
