Today is International Day of the Girl Child. 💗

Every girl deserves to grow up safe, seen and free to dream. Yet too many girls grow up hearing words that make their world smaller:

“You’re a girl. Stay home.”

“Girls don’t need to study.”

“Keep quiet. It’s family business.”

“Just get married. That’s your future.”

These words shape who she becomes. They teach her to stay silent, to stop dreaming, and to accept less than she deserves.

At Moms Aid, we see how violence, poverty and early responsibilities can take away a girl’s childhood. Protecting her today is how we build a safer tomorrow for every woman.

Today is World Mental Health Day. 💗

This year’s theme, Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change, speaks to the heart of everything we do.

Every day, we walk alongside women who have survived violence, women fighting their way through poverty, and mothers carrying it all on their own. Their pain is often invisible: the fear that stays long after the abuse ends, the stress that never switches off, the exhaustion no one asks about.

These are not just hardships. They shape a woman’s mental health.

The women living these realities know best what needs to change. Real change begins when we stop speaking about them and start truly listening to them.

Check in on a woman you know today. Ask how she’s really doing, and listen without judgement.

A safer, more comfortable space to call home. 🤍

Through our Family Sponsorship Program, and with the generous support of RLB Hooloomann , we were able to refurbish the room of a single mother and her young children — helping transform their living space into a more secure, comfortable and welcoming home for the family.

For families facing difficult circumstances, support can go beyond providing everyday essentials. Sometimes, it means improving the very space they come home to each day.

We are incredibly grateful to RLB Hoolooman for supporting this family and helping us create a meaningful, lasting impact. 🤍

Every child deserves to feel safe — especially in the place they call home.

Sexually abusing a child is horrific. Recording, distributing or profiting from that abuse is beyond inhumane. There must be zero tolerance for those who harm children and those who enable their exploitation.

We need stronger protection, faster justice and systems that put the safety of children first.

Silence protects abusers. Action protects children.

See the signs. Listen. Believe. Report. Protect.

We must do more to protect our children. 🤍
