❤️ Today, we marked World Restart a Heart Day and launched Hiyvarugadha with Tiny Hearts Of Maldives
Every year on 16 October, the world comes together around one simple message: two hands can save a life. When someone’s heart suddenly stops, the first few minutes matter most, and the people nearby are often the only ones who can help in time. Knowing CPR can make all the difference.
To mark the day, we launched Hiyvarugadha (“strong heart”), our joint campaign with Tiny Hearts of Maldives for a heart-healthy Maldives, where anyone can save a life. The campaign was launched by our President, Mr Ali Nashid, and the founders of Tiny Hearts of Maldives, Ms Hishmath Faiz and Mr Ali Muaz.
We also launched Dhivehi CPR Songs 🎵, a first step towards gathering local music that keeps the rhythm of CPR. The playlist opens with three songs by the late Mezzo Mohamed, shared with the kind permission of his family.
The evening also featured a CPR skit by our volunteers and a heart health session by Tiny Hearts of Maldives.
We were honoured to be joined by representatives from government, health institutions, partner organisations, civil society and the community. Thank you all for being part of this evening, and a special thank you to our volunteers and the teams who made it possible. 🙌
