Fertility is a fundamental part of human lives & wellbeing. Yet millions around the world face barriers in accessing fertility education, diagnosis and treatment.

This World Fertility Day, FSC stands for awareness, inclusion and hope for understanding reproductive health, to supporting Maldivians on their journey to parenthood & to full-fill their family planning goals.

Earlier diagnosis, awareness on infertility causes & prevention is important to build our country population. We as a community need to acknowledge the rising numbers of infertility globally & in Maldives.

We should not be ashamed to talk about infertility. We should not dismiss secondary infertility. Let us all remind everyone that infertility is not just about women. Help us support our cause by sharing this post & start the discussion.

Women with a history of infertility or those who conceived through assisted reproductive technologies (ART) are at a higher risk of postpartum depression, but the relationship is complex and influenced by factors like pre-existing stress, duration of infertility, and type of treatment. Specific factors linked to increased risk include a long duration of infertility, conception via in vitro fertilisation (IVF), higher perceived stress during pregnancy, and less social support.

The husband's role in helping the mother of the child is important. Not just with time spend with baby but checking on emotional status of the mother & providing emotional support.

Shout out to all the great husbands/fathers who knew their role.

To all the future ones: Be ready to be available to the mother from the first night after the baby.

To all the mommies: Do not be afraid to ask for help.
