To revive the Club a group of friends have decided to take the reins and to lead the club which they love so dearly. Friendship Circle is a football club that was formed in the year 1977 and is located at Trois Boutiques, Union Vale. Friendship Circle focused mostly on football and other sporting activities; on rare occasions they will organize cultural and religious activities. Friendship Circle
is a club formed on the street by few friends who thought of creating some entertainment for the people, the club was run by people who live in the area and who worked for the Mon Desert Mon Tresor Sugar Estate. The Club has had its ups and downs, change of management and active only on few occasions over the years. Time passed and in 2014 a younger generation decided to take the club to another level and they decided to register the club as a Non Governmental Organization. The executive committee comprised of a mixture of younger and older generations. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out and the club went dormant again and as a result, the Registrar of Associations archived the Friendship Circle because they were non operational.
2020: Negatives and Positives. The Post-Confinement period has allowed time to a group of friends to discuss the issues of their village and motivated them to turn things around.
• Drugs appeared in Trois Boutiques.
• Our youngsters are not involved in any kind of activities.
• There is no entertainment for the seniors of our village.
• Social life is nonexistent.
• People are not aware environmental issues.
• People are not educated about animal welfare.
• People are living a stressful life. August 2020, a new executive committee has been elected; Friendship Circle has been rebranded and will be re-registered as a Non Governmental Organization. The Executive Members has vowed to carry out a project of organizing 12 events throughout a year. The events will be connected to social, environmental, educational, health, sporting, religious, cultural and are animal friendly. Assessing the financial situation of people in our area, the Executive Committee has decided to run Friendship Circle with minimal financial contribution from its members, an entry fee of Rs 100.00 and a monthly subscription of Rs 10.00.
