CBC is excited to participate in the Dragon Boat Festival 2026 at Caudan Waterfront, where our Dragon Boat Team will proudly represent the Chamber in competition for the very first time.

As from 1 May 2026, China has removed trade tariffs for African countries with diplomatic ties, including Mauritius providing access to one of the world’s largest consumer markets.

This development opens new opportunities for businesses of all sizes, enabling Mauritian products; from agro-products to artisanal goods, to enter the Chinese market with enhanced competitiveness (subject to applicable terms and conditions).

This initiative is expected to support exports, stimulate local production, and contribute to economic growth.

A noteworthy development in China–Africa economic relations.

According to a recent update from the Chinese Embassy, zero-tariff treatment is set to be extended to 53 African countries as from 1 May 2026, with Eswatini excluded. This initiative could enhance market access and strengthen trade flows between Africa and China, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The Chinese Business Chamber of Mauritius (CBC) encourages its members to take a proactive approach by reviewing the framework, assess potential impact on your sector, and confirm specific eligibility criteria and conditions with the appropriate authorities.

Opportunities grow where preparation meets policy.

Great news for China-Africa partnership! 🤝

On Wednesday 3rd December 2025, the Chinese Business Chamber, in collaboration with our Corporate Affiliate Leal & Co. Ltd., hosted a CBC Talk on Electric Vehicles and Photovoltaic Energy at the BMW Showroom in Pailles.

How will electric mobility and solar energy shape the future of Mauritius?

Led by Mr. Frederic Nokiah, Chief Operating Officer BMW / MINI / VO Sales, this insightful session brought together CBC members, board representatives, and industry professionals to explore the opportunities and challenges of sustainable mobility in our local context.

The warm welcome and excellent cocktail reception created an ideal environment for networking and thoughtful exchange, making the evening both enriching and memorable.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Nokiah, all of our hosts at Leal, and all participants for their valuable presence and contributions.
