Senior Citizen Association of Camp-Yoloff

Senior Citizen Association of Camp-Yoloff The objective of this association is to empower them to lead a better life. Within the years, it has been growing and organising several activities.

The Senior Citizens Association was founded on 18 February 1994 because there was a severe lack of an organisation to look after and bring together the elderly people of the Camp-Yoloff who come from poor and vulnerable community. Nowadays, about 200 residents are active members and many young’s are volunteers in the association's intergenerational activities. It was initially concentrated on the

welfare of the elderly but has later diversify its activities to touch all generations of the community when we have seen the dangerous, precarious and unhealthy livelihood the residents are living. It is now associated with a Keep Fit Club to conduct daily exercise activities, look for sponsors to give educational materials to the children, make socio-cultural activities during all festivals so as to keep the tight and good relationship among the different religious communities. Inter-generational activities are done so as to bridge the gap between the young generation and the elderly generation and prone good relationship and communication. Residential camping is organised so as to educate them how to live peacefully and appropriately in society and we try to make them happy and keep their minds away from their problems at home.
