the person in a professional manner in his rehabilitation and reintegration process, so that he regains his autonomy and dignity. Our rehabilitation programme is designed to assist detainees in improving self-knowledge and concepts of responsibility whilst in prison as well as prepare them for a
fresh start upon release. The programme focuses on helping ex-detainees in their re-entry into their family circle, the workplace and the society at large.
2001 : Kinouété offers a listening service in the woman prison: Beau-Bassin.
2003: Kinouété is registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in order to widen its rehabilitation programs in other prisons.
2005: Opening of the Drop-In Centre (DIC) for former male and female detainees.
