🌟 Celebrating Service, Dedication and Teamwork 🌟

At our recent Business Meeting, the Rotary Club of Bagatelle had the pleasure of recognising and presenting certificates of appreciation to a remarkable group of young volunteers whose dedication and enthusiasm contributed significantly to the success of our projects.

Certificates were awarded to the Interactors of RCPL, members of JADE, the Boy Scouts, and the Girl Guides in recognition of their invaluable support during the opening of the New Moka Eye Hospital and our Chocolate & Wine fundraising initiative.

These young volunteers generously gave their time and energy to:
💙 Assist patients and visitors in navigating the hospital during the inauguration of the New Moka Eye Hospital
💙 Help prepare and wrap the Wine & Chocolate boxes for our fundraising project
💙 Contribute to creating a welcoming and successful experience for all involved

Their commitment, teamwork, and willingness to serve are a powerful reminder that the future of community service is in good hands.

💚🌿 Bringing Health, Prevention and Hope Closer to the Community 🌿💚

The Rotary Club of Bagatelle is proud to announce the successful completion of our Health & Wellness Day held at the Telfair Community Centre.

This meaningful initiative brought together healthcare professionals, volunteers, community organisations, and residents with one common goal: promoting healthier lives through prevention, awareness, and early detection.

Throughout the day, community members benefited from a range of free services and activities, including health screenings, medical consultations, nutritional advice, breast health awareness, HIV/STI prevention and testing, wellness therapies, fitness activities, and family-friendly entertainment.

This initiative aims to:
✅ Promote health prevention and early detection
✅ Raise awareness on important health and well-being topics
✅ Provide free basic health screening and counselling services
✅ Encourage healthier lifestyles through education and community engagement

Visitors will have access to a range of activities and services including:

Tonight, the Rotary Club of Bagatelle had the pleasure of welcoming a new member, Rotarian Alvin, into our growing Rotary family. 💙
As our club continues to evolve, each new member brings fresh energy, perspectives, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact through service.

The evening was made even more special as we were honoured by the presence of

🌍✨ Rotary Club of Bagatelle at the District 9220 Conference ✨🌍

The Rotary Club of Bagatelle was proud to participate in the District 9220 Conference held at RM Garden, Mauritius — a vibrant gathering bringing together Rotarians from across the district in the spirit of fellowship, collaboration, and service. 💙💛

This inspiring event provided an opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians from Mauritius, Madagascar, La Réunion, Seychelles, Mayotte, and beyond, while celebrating the impactful work being carried out across our communities.

From insightful exchanges and shared experiences to meaningful moments of fellowship, the conference was a reminder of the strength of Rotary when we come together with a common purpose: creating positive and lasting change.

A sincere thank you to the organisers and everyone who contributed to making this conference such a memorable experience.

Squint 4.0: Restoring Vision, Changing Lives

The Rotary Club of Bagatelle continues its commitment to children’s eye health with the successful rollout of Squint 4.0, the fourth edition of its flagship initiative addressing strabismus in Mauritius.

🔹 Since 2023:
• 600+ consultations
• 200+ surgeries

🔹 In 2026 alone:
• 182 consultations
• 63 surgeries
• First-ever mission in Rodrigues (16 consultations, 3 surgeries)

Beyond the numbers, Squint 4.0 represents:
✔️ Free access to specialized eye care for children
✔️ International medical collaboration
✔️ Skills transfer to local healthcare professionals
✔️ A more child-friendly hospital environment

This initiative is made possible through strong collaboration between the Rotary Club of Bagatelle, the Ministry of Health & Wellness, and international medical partners.
