On Sunday, 14 June, the world will mark 2026, a day to honour the voluntary blood donors whose generosity sustains the lives of people who depend on and , not once, but throughout their lives.
For individuals living with and other , regular access to safe blood is essential for survival, health and quality of life. A stable blood supply allows to continue their treatment, pursue education and work, support their families, and live with greater dignity, safety and hope.
This year’s message is simple, but deeply powerful:
Give blood. Give regularly. Save lives.
expresses its heartfelt gratitude to everywhere and calls on communities, health systems and societies to strengthen safe, sufficient and accessible blood donation for every patient, everywhere.
