This Sunday morning, instead of having a lie in, I'll be waking up early for an important hospital appointment regarding my back. It's a very significant appointment, as the doctors will be reviewing my X ray results and discussing my progress and what comes next.
My hope is that the therapies is helping and that surgery can be avoided, so I can continue walking and maintain my mobility.

Being able to stay active and independent means so much to me.

Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts for positive results and good news.

Hey Special needs parents,

I know you are struggling.

I know you are carrying the weight of parenting along with far more roles than you ever anticipated.

And I know that you feel lonely.

And tired.

And maybe even at your breaking point.

And that is okay.

You don’t’ have to have it altogether,

you don’t even have to know where all the pieces are.

It is okay to not be okay.

But don’t stay there,

don’t get comfortable in your pain.

Don’t cuddle up with misery.

Stand up.

Take a deep breath.
Cry.
Scream.

And then push for another day.

You can do this.

YOU are important.
YOU matter.
YOU have a purpose.

It’s okay to not be okay.

But don’t settle there.

You were built to survive the hard,

so you can celebrate the good that’s ahead.
