There’s plenty to look forward to with the **ERRC Rangers**: search-and-rescue challenges, first aid, camping, hiking, cooking, map reading, radio skills, obstacle courses and opportunities to help our community.

Along the way, young people make friends, build confidence and learn how to work together—even when the challenge takes a little figuring out!

You don’t need to arrive knowing how to do it all. Bring curiosity, a willingness to try and respect for your team. We’ll learn together. 💚

Our programme brings practical rescue skills, outdoor adventure and personal development together, with water rescue and sea safety forming part of our summer learning.

The **International Kite & Wind Festival** returns to **San Dimitri, Għarb, on 17–18 October**, and ERRC is proud to provide first aid services throughout our event coverage.

OCTOBER RECRUITMENT IS OPEN! 🌿

Our ERRC Rangers outdoor programme in Gozo welcomes new recruits aged 11–16 for an autumn and winter of adventure, practical learning and friendship.
From camping, hiking and climbing to obstacle courses and team challenges, there’s plenty to get involved in. Put your thinking into action with rope rescue, search-and-rescue scenarios, stretcher-board skills and first aid, and learn how to navigate with a map and communicate by radio. 🧭
We’ll also be cooking, foraging, gardening and working within the community—with games, fun and shared experiences along the way.
It’s about more than collecting skills. It’s learning to take responsibility, support each other and discover what you’re capable of—with a team beside you.

From the football pitch to a sky full of kites—and a night at the opera. Different events, one community we’re proud to serve. 💛

This week, 13–18 October, ERRC is providing first aid cover for Gozo Football Association fixtures and the Kite & Wind Festival in Għarb, alongside ambulance and first aid cover for La Traviata at Teatru tal-Opra Aurora.

🚩 **High hazard:** Xlendi.

🟢 **Low hazard:** Mġarr ix-Xini, Ħondoq and Santa Marija. Low hazard does not mean no risk.

Conditions can change throughout the day. Check the flags when you arrive, follow lifeguards’ instructions and keep checking our updates.

You know your favourite spot. Could you describe it to someone who can’t see it?

In an emergency, call 112. When giving your location, tell the operator you are in Gozo, then describe exactly where you are: the locality, beach or street, and a nearby landmark.

Explain what has happened, answer the operator’s questions and follow their instructions.

Don’t delay calling because you don’t know the exact address. Describe what you can see and let the operator guide you.

Next time you’re out, take a moment to notice the name of the place and its access point. It’s a simple habit worth sharing.
