We are so grateful to the Baby Matteo Foundation for organizing this beautiful initiative for International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

Though their time with us was brief, their impact on our hearts lasts forever. 🤍 To all the families holding a little one in their hearts tonight, you are not alone. 🕯️

“I’m so sorry, but there’s no heartbeat.” 💔

Words that can shatter a mother’s entire world in a matter of seconds.

One moment, you’re lying on that ultrasound bed imagining the life growing inside you. You’re wondering who your baby will look like, what their little personality will be like, and what it will feel like to finally hold them in your arms.

And the next moment, you’re trying to comprehend how the future you had already started dreaming about could suddenly feel so far away.

You leave that appointment with empty arms, a broken heart, and a thousand questions you may never have answers to.

You wonder why. You wonder what you could have done differently. You wonder how the world can keep moving when yours has just completely stopped.

And somehow, you’re expected to go home and carry on with life while grieving a baby the world never had the chance to meet.

But that baby was real. The love was real. The dreams were real. And the grief is real.

Your baby mattered. Your motherhood matters.🕊️🤍

As we kick off Baby Loss Awareness Week, we would like to thank everyone who showed their support and attended yesterday’s candlelit Mass. 🕯️ The community we came together to form was filled with love, comfort and understanding, reminding us that your precious babies will never be forgotten. 💗

We would also like to share some beautiful words from Fr Giovann, who reminded bereaved parents that life should go on, not because we forget our little ones, but because we continue to live for them. Hearing some of your stories touched our hearts and served as a gentle reminder that no parent has to walk this journey alone. 🫶

Finally, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Fr. Giovann for celebrating the Mass, to Gail Att**d for animating it with her beautiful voice, and to Celine, Winnie, and all the other members of staff at the NPICU and MDH who helped us in any way. Your kindness, support and generosity mean more than words can express. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💗
