Today, as we celebrate , the 'State of the Nation' survey shows that Malta's comfort with multiculturalism has decreased compared to previous years. Various factors, including increased immigration, economic concerns, cultural integration challenges, media influence, and political climate, contribute to this unease.

To help foster understanding, why not attend one of the diverse events organised by the Malta Refugee Council? These events offer a chance to experience different cultures, learn about the contributions of refugees, and build a stronger, more inclusive community.

Check out the Malta Refugee Council page for a full program of events. Let's celebrate diversity in Malta.

Last week we attended CONCORD Europe's General Assembly in Brussels. Delegates from the 57 national platforms, including Malta's SKOP, networks and associate members gathered to review the work of the past year and how to further enhance our joint strategy.

CONCORD’s General Assembly reflected on the way forward following the results of the European Parliament elections, which showed a clear turn to the right in many countries. These results have potential implications for EU international cooperation and civil society space both in Europe and in partner countries.

The second day saw a panel discussion on Safeguarding the integrity of EU’s international cooperation in times of geopolitical tensions. Following the results of the 2024 European Parliament elections, members reflected on the way forward for international cooperation and sustainable development.
