🚨Introducing the EU Funding Helpdesk

Last week, the Malta Employers’ Association officially launched a new support service for its members: the EU Funding Helpdesk. This initiative marks an important step forward in strengthening the support we offer to our members seeking to access EU funding opportunities.

The launch was held during a press conference attended by the Minister for European Funds, Hon. Dr. Zrinzo Azzopardi, and the National Coordinator and CEO of EUPA Malta, Mr. Raphael Scerri, showing a strong display of collaboration and commitment towards supporting Maltese SMEs.

The EU Funding Helpdesk is the key outcome of the E+ Project Unlock, which focused on empowering SMEs to better understand, access, and benefit from available funding opportunities. In fact, the project focused on launching and promoting the EU Helpdesk to establish the service and engage with members.

The EU Funding Helpdesk is live at the SME National Forum 2025! 💼🇪🇺

The EU Funding Helpdesk is a new service by the Malta Employers, designed to support our members in achieving their EU funding ambitions.

As project leaders of E+ Project Unlock, we’re addressing a key labour market need, supporting SMEs in accessing EU funding more effectively.

A special thank you to EUPA Malta - Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps for their partnership and support in promoting EU funding within the private sector.

Training Session ☑️

Yesterday, project leaders Malta Employers hosted a fully booked training session titled “Project Development for Business Enhance Schemes” as part of Project UNLOCK.

Participants learned how to apply for Business Enhance funding opportunities, gaining practical tips from experienced professionals. The session also featured collaborative group activities, encouraging hands-on, non-formal learning.

💡 The feedback? Extremely positive!
It’s great to see such active participation and curiosity from all attendees — proof that learning through collaboration truly works.

🤝 Bi-lateral Agreement Signed between Malta Employers & CCIF

Last week, project partners Malta Employers and Cross Culture International Foundation CCIF formalised their commitment to long-term collaboration through the signing of a Bi-lateral Agreement.

This agreement extends the benefits of the EU Helpdesk at Malta Employers to CCIF’s community — including third-country nationals who are self-employed, business owners, and employers. Through this partnership, CCIF members will gain:

✔️ Direct access to the Helpdesk’s services
✔️ Equal participation in future events
✔️ Tailored support in navigating EU and local funding opportunities

This milestone ensures that the impact of this project continues beyond the project’s lifetime, strengthening inclusivity, cooperation, and access to opportunities.

Yesterday, the EU Helpdesk at the Malta Employers held its first Information Session on EU Funding Opportunities for Businesses. The event was very well attended, reflecting our members’ strong interest in learning more about funding opportunities

The EU Helpdesk is a new service by the Association designed to support members in accessing both local and EU funding opportunities. It was set up through E+ Project Unlock , an EU-funded initiative led by the Malta Employers.

During the session, our team introduced participants to the basics of EU funding—highlighting the difference between local and EU opportunities, where to find them, and what to look out for. Attendees also received practical insights on two specific schemes under the Business Enhance Grant Schemes.

This session was primarily aimed at businesses with little prior experience in EU funding, but the Helpdesk will be offering further Information and Training Sessions throughout in the future to cater to different levels of experience.
