Our Objectives:
IGC is an umbrella organization and has the following objectives:
- To promote innovation in all its aspects;
- To advocate the importance of innovation within the different economic and social aspects;
- To raise public and political awareness on the importance of innovation;
- To encourage and support public and private organisations to develop innovative products and serv
ices;
- To actively participate in projects which help it reach its short and long term objectives;
- To collaborate with and form part of any national/international organisations whose aims are similar to that of IGC;
IGC is a voluntary organisation registered under the Voluntary Organisation Act. How can we help your organization? IGC can provide any organization or industry, in the private, public or voluntary sectors with the tools to challenge the old way of doing things. The ‘more of the same’ are the ideas of the past and we rely on the knowledge of your own management and employees to give you the solutions for sustainable growth by unleashing the potential inside them. How can we assist your industry? Organisations may use a number of different types of linkages with a number of different businesses or groupings of businesses in order to meet their goals. IGC can assist in providnig linkage for collective action in any given industry, market or sector. One method that IGC has already taken the initiative in is the formation of clusters. The list of potential outcomes from clustering are endless and IGC believes that part of the attraction of the cluster approach is whereby organisations see the potential of economic growth tend to fall into two categories:
- Benefits that might accrue to a group of businesses (such as information from relationships, joint marketing, strategic management)
- Policy perceptions (rivalry, complementary products, reputation, pool of skilled labour, conducive to new business)
Taking such approach, IGC launched the Tourism Innovation Generation Cluster which has been operating since 2015, whereby various organizations are generating ideas and activities in order to disseminate further the advantages of innovation in tourism, that includes:
- New product development
- Attracting Finance
- Getting and keeping business
- Providing products and services
- Training
- General networking
