SAVET Erasmus+ Project – Teachers’ Training Activity on Self-Assessment in VET

On 26 May 2026, a training meeting was successfully held within the framework of the SAVET – Self-Assessment Mastery for Lifelong Learning in VET Erasmus+ project. The session involved three teachers who came together to explore and discuss the implementation of self-assessment strategies in vocational education and training (VET).

During the meeting, participants exchanged experiences, analysed practical approaches, and reflected on how self-assessment can support learners in becoming more autonomous and aware of their learning process. The training also provided an opportunity to review project materials and discuss their application in real educational settings.

The meeting contributed to strengthening teachers’ competences in promoting reflective learning practices and fostering lifelong learning skills among students. It also encouraged collaboration and the sharing of good practices among educators involved in the project.

This activity represents another important step towards achieving the objectives of the SAVET project, which aims to support VET teachers with effective tools and methodologies for integrating self-assessment into everyday teaching and learning processes. The project continues to progress successfully thanks to the active participation and commitment of all partners and stakeholders involved.

More than just a grade, self-assessment is a process of reflection on one's own performance: it allows you to identify what you've learned and pinpoint areas for improvement.

It's not just a technical exercise, but a tool for autonomy that fosters critical thinking and the ability to self-regulate learning.

It's the key to adapting to a constantly changing professional world! 🌍

πŸ“Έ We're showing you how the SAVET team is starting the year by meeting to continue creating our Guide (S-A Playbook). In it, you'll find information like this, practical strategies, lists of templates to use in the classroom, and much more.

Stay tuned for updates! We'll soon be sharing more resources to transform Vocational Training. πŸš€πŸ”

Before building solutions, we listen.
Over the past months, the SAVET team has been gathering insights from VET teachers, students, and educational stakeholders across Belgium, Spain, and Malta β€” through questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups.
Their voices are now shaping our Self-Assessment Playbook β€” a hands-on guide packed with evidence-based strategies to help VET teachers bring self-assessment into the classroom.
πŸ“Š Real input. Real needs. Real impact.
πŸ‘‰ Stay tuned: the training sessions are next! πŸš€

During April, the SAVET partnership continued its teacher training activities, supporting VET educators in Belgium and Malta to build their understanding of self-assessment in vocational education.
The sessions focused on how self-assessment can help students reflect on their learning, recognise strengths and areas for improvement, and develop stronger self-regulation and lifelong learning skills.

Using the Self-Assessment Playbook as a foundation, teachers explored practical strategies, shared perspectives, and discussed how self-assessment can be introduced in inclusive and meaningful ways within VET.

This training is an important step in preparing educators with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed for the next stages of the SAVET project.

πŸ—“οΈ 11th May | ⏰ 10:30 AM

We successfully organised a one-day training session dedicated to the presentation and implementation of our official SMART Skills Training Guide for International Mobility developed within the SMART-VET Project.

More than 40 students actively participated in the training, demonstrating great motivation, engagement, and interest throughout the activities.

During the session, participants explored key SMART skills essential for international mobility and professional growth, including adaptability, resilience, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, intercultural awareness, and professional responsibility. The training also provided practical tools and real-life scenarios designed to better prepare learners for international work experiences and multicultural environments.

We are proud to say that the objectives of the SMART VET Project were widely achieved, confirming the positive impact of the project on vocational education, mobility preparation, and students’ personal and professional development.

A sincere thank you to all participants, partners, trainers, and collaborators who contributed to the success of this important event!
