🚑 Emergency Response | Żurrieq

Yesterday, Malta Red Cross emergency teams were deployed following reports of six divers in distress off the coast of Żurrieq.

Our crews responded alongside the Civil Protection Department, the Malta Police Force, medical teams, and other emergency responders to support the operation.

Thankfully, all six individuals were brought to safety.

Incidents at sea can escalate quickly, highlighting the importance of preparation, awareness, and a coordinated emergency response.

We would like to thank all agencies and personnel involved for their professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to protecting lives.

⚠️ Beach Safety Notice – Golden Bay

While wind conditions are expected to worsen throughout the afternoon, Malta Red Cross lifeguards are already responding to multiple interventions at Golden Bay.

We urge all beach users to:

* Follow lifeguard instructions
* Remain aware of changing sea conditions
* Avoid taking unnecessary risks in the water
* Keep a close watch on children and weaker swimmers

Please note that lifeguard services operate until 18:00.

Your safety starts with good judgement.

We're looking for Casual First Aid Instructors to join our Education Department.
If you're passionate about teaching life-saving skills and want to make a real impact in your community, we'd love to hear from you.

As an Instructor, you'll be responsible for:

🩹 Delivering high-quality First Aid training to the public and private organisations
🏫 Preparing classrooms and equipment before each course
📋 Assessing participants and maintaining high standards of instruction
🤝 Collaborating with fellow instructors and volunteers
🧾 Managing course administration and helping maintain training equipment

We're seeking individuals with a passion for teaching and helping others. A background in First Aid is considered an asset, but not essential. If you have the drive to inspire and the willingness to learn, we'll provide the training required to become a certified First Aid Instructor.

📍 Location: Pembroke Base of Operations / On-Site Locations
🕒 Casual Position – Morning Availability Preferred
💻 Applicants must have access to their own laptop
🚗 Must have access to a vehicle and hold a valid driving licence
