Together we save lives.

Yesterday, two concurrent emergency responses were managed by the pre-hospital teams of the Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department.

In Mellieħa, a person was injured after falling from height onto a parked vehicle. At Għar Lapsi, another person suffered heat exhaustion in a remote area. The patient was treated and stabilised on site before being transferred to a Civil Protection Department RHIB and conveyed safely to a waiting emergency ambulance.

The responses involved, Emergency Ambulances, Emergency Physician Support Units, Emergency Nurse Response teams and Rapid Basic Life Support units.

🌊🚤 Prevention Saves Lives 🚤🌊

At the Malta Red Cross Water Rescue Unit, our work is not only about responding to emergencies. The majority of our efforts focus on prevention.

Every day, our teams conduct continuous patrols along Malta’s coastline, with particular attention given to areas identified as higher risk. By maintaining a visible presence, engaging with beach users, promoting safe practices, and monitoring conditions, our rescuers help prevent incidents before they happen.

This proactive approach is making a real difference. During guarded hours, from 09:30 to 18:00, the number of incidents has significantly decreased, demonstrating the positive impact of prevention, vigilance, and regular patrols.

A huge well done to all our Water Rescue personnel who work tirelessly under the sun to keep our beaches safer for everyone. Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public safety continue to save lives every day.

❤️🏍️ Today, I'd like to give some well-deserved recognition to the Red Cross Malta.

Almost every Sunday morning, I see this rider on the road, making his way to duty while most of us are simply out enjoying the ride. It's a reminder that, while many are relaxing, others are already preparing to help those in need.

Whether responding to emergencies, providing first aid at events, or supporting the community, the volunteers of the Red Cross are always ready to answer the call.

Thank you to every member of the Malta Red Cross for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to keeping our community safe. Your work deserves to be recognised. ❤️

🇲🇹🎶 Congratulations to GREAT Ltd and everyone involved in organising the Pitbull concert.

Malta continues to host major events requiring extensive planning, coordination and collaboration, and this was another excellent example of organisations working together towards a common goal.

Malta Red Cross was pleased to play a leading role in the event’s medical coverage, working alongside the Accident & Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital, St John Ambulance & Rescue, and other partners. Together, more than 100 first aiders, emergency responders, nurses and doctors were mobilised to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees.

A sincere thank you to all the volunteers, healthcare professionals, organisers, security personnel and support staff whose commitment and teamwork contributed to the event’s success.
