Welcome to 2026! Can’t believe we are starting February already. Time is speeding by. It’s been a while since we posted, so this one is a bit of a catch up, so read more below, and now may be the time for you to join us! https://aiwmalta.com/Join-Us

Firstly, we just want to say a big welcome to all the new members who joined us in 2025. As of the end of January we have 204 members, representing over 35 nationalities including many Maltese ladies in our community.

Following the hugely successful International Christmas Fair in November, there was a delicious array of social activities. This included a special Christmas afternoon monthly meeting – dancing, singing and prosecco hit the spot for sure. We held a joyful Christmas Carol evening at Casino Maltese with our AIWM choir leading the musical evening and an Irish band; our monthly walk & talks, bridge, book club and language groups continued and we finished off the year with a special Bon Appetit lunch at Lumi.

We hit January running… starting with a well-attended monthly coffee morning, Bon Appetit lunch at Barracuda and an Art Gallery Walk in Valletta… just as the big weather kicked in. We also held a new members welcome party. We finished the month on a high with a fabulously glamorous night at Casino Malta – even losing was fun!!

Next up in February, we have a lecture on Fast Fashion and some arts and crafts sessions scheduled. We are also planning for our Annual General meeting in March and many other fun events.

Membership is open to all women who lived in an international environment or who simply love to travel and who are willing to actively participate in the Association's activities. We encourage you to join us, so that you too can enjoy the fun.

And the summer is here! It is hot! With the Fashion Show somewhat taking over our page in May, we wanted to share all the other ‘stuff’ we have been doing since the last news update in April.

Looking back over the last couple of months, we have made some lovely memories together.

We enjoyed scenic and well attended Walk & Talks in Xemxija and Chadwick Lakes. We had coffee mornings/afternoons in Madliena, Portomaso and Kalkara. Bon Appetit lunch was at Frescos ; We had two Lectures at RMYC - Holy Infirmary of the Knights by Emanuel Buttigieg and Ancient Egyptian Art by our member, Annalisa Malaguti. Both so good! And all the usual activities, Book Club, French and German Conversation, Cocktail evenings,Singing Group and Mahjong. We are kept pretty busy by our fabulous social committee!

And, through our connections with Open Door, ten of our members went to Prague on an outward-bound exchange with International Women’s Association of Prague. During the four-day event, we participated in invigorating and informative walking tours of the city, tasted Czech wine, and feasted on Georgian food.

And, importantly, ….our membership is at an all-time high, 222 members, with 28 of them new this year. We are going from strength to strength, uniting in friendship through social and cultural experiences and are committed to giving back to our community.

We are delighted to share with you that we made well over €6,500 at the Fashion Show on Saturday 3 May. Fantastic news! Big thanks to our Treasurer, Gail Coleman, and Webmaster, Rosemary Amato, for all their hard work on this behind the scenes.

WHAT A NIGHT! We all had such a fantastic time last night at the Fashion Show. There was not an empty seat to be seen. We are busy counting the cash – everyone has been so generous. Hoping we have raised lots of €€€ in aid of Dar Merhba Bik Foundation. Will keep you posted on that!

We started with some great singing and music from Betina, Joe and Brian band - ‘It’s Just a Hobby’, We also had dancing from the talented and colourful Spanish dancers, Compañia Danza Maraquilin, Beautiful song from Helen Turner. Beatrice Njoya spoke beautifully of her experiences and the need for optimisim and hope for a better future.

The show was all about the clothes and we had some really amazing shops involved in making the show happen. They worked so hard to deliver us a fabulous collection of glamour and fun. Big thanks to Island Paradise, Dana Carmont Bikinis, LEOMAX Cashmere Collection, Fiorella Rubino, Lilly Mae, Atelier Gable,Fiorella Rubino, RC Stiletti with Studio GABE Malta,

And the Models! Wow.. All 28 of them. They were incredible. It was great to watch them walk the plank , I mean cat walk, with such attitude, elegance and joy.

Our MC Claire Marie Busuttil from 100.2 worked hand in hand with DJ Xplora to present the show and give us the best music. They were awesome! And we were also so happy to have make up artists, Aisha and Kimberley. from International School of Beauty Therapy.

Once again we want to thank InterContinental Malta for their generous support of the event and all those businesses who sponsored the event and donated Raffle prizes and gifts for the incredible goodie bag.

There was such a great vibe in the air – so much love, laughter and community. Hard to beat a night like this.
